The Gatlin Brothers will celebrate their milestone of six-and-a-half decades as a band this year with the aptly titled 65th Anniversary Tour. The trek, which kicks off Friday (Jan. 17) and runs through December, will have the band performing more than 60 dates throughout 2020, with more expected to be added in the coming weeks.
“The man who loves his job is always on vacation,” Larry Gatlin tells Billboard. “Well, I’ve been on vacation with my two best friends, brother Steve and brother Rudy, for 65 years, singing our music for millions of wonderful people. I am greatly blessed!”
Larry, Steve & Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers began playing together 65 years ago this spring as children in Abilene, Texas. The Grand Ole Opry members would go on to see success with hit songs “All the Gold in California,” “Broken Lady” and “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love,” among others.
