The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the leading national non-profit organization providing compassionate care and survivor support services for the families of America’s fallen military heroes. TAPS provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, grief seminars for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, case work assistance, connections to community-based care, and a 24/7 resource and information helpline for all who have been affected by a military death. Services are provided free of charge. Since 1994, TAPS has offered support to more than 95,000 survivors of fallen military.
In 2019, TAPS embarked upon a very special recording project of ten original songs that honor the lives and dedication of our servicemen and women written by TAPS families alongside some of the best songwriters in Nashville. The songs have been compiled into our Album: Love Lives On featuring top recording artists that include Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill, Lonestar, Pam Tillis, The Gatlin Brothers, All-4- One, John Rich and more. From the ashes of grief comes the most powerful and real songs of hope, perseverance and determination that they did not die without a reason. These are not just songs of longing and loss. These songs prove what our hearts know best — that love truly does live on.
